2026-2029 Strategic Plan
The 2026 to 2029 Strategic Plan advances public safety through an integratred approach to serving the community and supporting YRP members . The Plan lays out the service’s objectives for the next four years.
Input from community members, community safety and well-being plan partners, YRP members, elected officials, York Regional Council, and the York Regional Police Service Board, together with analysis of emerging trends on regional growth and organizational priorities - informed the identification of four strategic priorities:
- Advance Crime Prevention and Community Safety Through Strategic Enforcement and Proactive Public Safety Initiatives.
- Enhance Response Delivery Through Partnership and Enforcement.
- Build Visible, Accessible, and Accountable Policing in Service to Community.
- Support Our People and Modernize Service Delivery.
The Strategic plan was developed through a multi-source, evidence-based engagement process and was informed through an environmental scan and feedback from both YRP members and the community.
