Steve Pellegrini, Vice Chair
Mayor of the Township of King, Regional Appointee
Steve Pellegrini is the Mayor of the Township of King and also King’s Regional representative on York Region Council. He was sworn into office in 2010 and is now serving his forth consecutive term. He has been acclaimed in the last three elections.
Mayor Pellegrini was appointed to the York Regional Police Services Board on June 1, 2021. He was re-elected as Vice Chair in January 2024, until the Board's first meeting in 2025. He became the Board's Vice Chair in December 2022.
In 2022, Mayor Pellegrini completed the Diversity and Inclusion certificate from Cornell University.
In addition to his continuing service in King, Steve worked for over 35 years in the municipal sector, recently retiring as a Manager of the Project Management Office (PMO).
He strongly believes in giving back and has been involved in many boards in his community. Currently, he is part of the following organizations:

- Board member Housing York
- Board member of York Health
- Executive Board member Toronto Region Conservation Authority (TRCA)
- Board member Holland Marsh Drainage System Joint Municipal Services Board (HMDSJMSB)
- Board Member of Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM)
- Board Member of the King Township Library
Mayor Pellegrini also holds a number of honourary positions such as:
- Honourary Governor of the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair
- Honourary Chair of King Township Foodbank
- Honourary Chair of Arts Society King.
Mayor Pellegrini past service includes:
- Chairman, Communities in Bloom for King Township (2006 – 2010)
- Treasurer, Parks and Recreation Ontario (2002 - 2007)
- Director, Association of Ontario Sport and Recreation Administrators (1997)
- KingFest Music Festival (2005 -2008).
In his spare time, Steve also coached baseball, soccer, and hockey as his children moved through their childhoods.
